Your photos. Your privacy.
Effective October 1, 2026. Camera Refine is operated by Qiao Yu. Contact: 510qiaoyu@gmail.com.
Photos and edits
We receive the photo you upload, generate previews and exports, and store temporary files on our application server to provide the editor. We do not send photos to Stripe or an external photo-generation service. Portrait tools use automated subject separation; they do not identify who a person is. Uploads are not used for model training, public galleries or marketing.
Original uploads and their results become inaccessible 24 hours after upload. The cleanup process runs every minute. Deleting a photo in the editor immediately revokes access and removes its associated image files; failed file deletion is retried. Temporary photo files are excluded from our application backups. Reference photos used to find similar styles are analyzed in memory and are not saved as reference image files.
Browser storage
An essential, signed session cookie links this browser to its temporary edits, allowances and purchased access. It is set for up to one year. Favorites and your default style are stored locally until you clear site data. A pending export uses session storage. When you start checkout, prepared batch photos may be saved in this browser’s IndexedDB so you can resume after payment. That draft is deleted when you resume or when the app next checks it after 24 hours; clearing site data also removes it. Closing the browser alone does not immediately delete an IndexedDB draft.
Optional analytics
With your consent, Google Analytics 4 helps us measure page visits, editing actions and purchases. Google receives browser and device information, approximate location, the referring site, public page paths, selected style identifiers, export counts and, after verified payment, an amount, currency and an opaque transaction identifier. We do not send photos, filenames, email addresses, recovery codes, payment links or uploaded-file identifiers to Google Analytics. Google processes this information under its privacy policy.
The Google code can load so its installation can be verified, but analytics storage is denied and Camera Refine sends no page or product events until you choose Allow analytics. The code request itself exposes ordinary network information such as your IP address and browser user agent to Google; our no-referrer policy prevents the current page address from being included in that request. Choosing Essential only does not affect editing or purchases. You can change or withdraw your choice through Analytics preferences in the footer. We remember your choice for up to 180 days; analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_…) also expire within 180 days of being set. When you withdraw consent, we stop analytics collection and remove those cookies. A local list of opaque purchase identifiers prevents duplicate purchase events. Clearing site data removes that list. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled. Event-level retention follows the GA4 resource setting, currently 2 months; aggregate reports can be retained longer.
Purchases and support
Stripe hosts payment collection and processes payment details under its privacy policy. Our server stores payment and Checkout references, the paid amount and currency, purchase status, device-session links, processing usage and a hashed recovery identifier. We do not store full payment-card numbers or card security codes. Stripe may receive billing details you provide at checkout. If you contact support by email, we receive the content of your message and your contact details.
Why we use this data
We process uploads and purchase records to deliver the service and fulfil your purchase. We use session identifiers, rate limits and technical records to protect the service, prevent abuse and resolve failures. We retain the transaction records needed for accounting, disputes and other legal obligations. Where consent is legally required for an optional use, we will request it. We do not sell your photos or use advertising trackers in the current editor.
Retention and service providers
The 24-hour expiry applies to photo files, not purchase or usage records. Purchase, recovery and credit records are kept as needed to maintain access and handle legal obligations; support and technical records are kept as needed to resolve requests, secure the service and meet those obligations. Restricted application backups contain the database and configuration, but no temporary photos. Hosting, payment and email providers process data as needed to operate the service. Depending on your location, processing may take place in another country; applicable data protection requirements still apply.
Your choices and rights
Delete temporary photos in the editor and clear browser site data to remove local preferences and drafts. Before clearing cookies, keep your recovery code if you bought Studio. You may contact 510qiaoyu@gmail.com to request access, correction or deletion of personal information, object to or restrict processing, or request portability where applicable. We may need to verify your request. Some transaction records must be retained to comply with law or maintain a requested purchase. You may also complain to the relevant data protection authority. We do not knowingly offer the service to children under 16.
Policy updates
We will update this page when our processing changes and show the new effective date. Send privacy questions to 510qiaoyu@gmail.com.
